Algemene informatie
De straten waar jij doorheen loopt. De lucht die je inademt. Het park waar je de hond uitlaat. De bodem waar je op staat. Lantaarnpalen. Stoepen. Bankjes. Water. Over alles in jouw directe omgeving is nagedacht. Dat denkwerk is vastgelegd in regels, wetten, bepalingen, verordeningen. De ruimtelijke inrichting van Nederland kent zoveel regels dat alleen nog specialisten overzicht hebben over het geheel. Gewone mensen, inwoners, ondernemers zijn daar de weg kwijt. Informatie is (digitaal) beschikbaar, maar het is veel, niet duidelijk, soms tegenstrijdig en niet transparant. Dat is lastig als je die omgeving handiger, beter of vriendelijker zou willen inrichten. Dat is lastig als je in die omgeving een leuk initiatief wil ontwikkelen. Want wat mag er wel en niet en bij wie moet je zijn? Vandaar deze hackathon.
Dat is de uitdaging die we neerleggen in de Hackathon ‘Redesign the Netherlands in 48 hours’. Vanaf 2019 zijn alle regelingen samengevoegd en vereenvoudigd in de nieuwe Omgevingswet, 1 wet voor de hele fysieke leefomgeving. Maar daarmee zijn we er nog niet. Technologie, data, IT en media kan helpen om het doel van die nieuwe wet te realiseren:
– Inwoners krijgen meer invloed op hun eigen omgeving
– Overheden, ondernemers en inwoners werken samen aan een (betere) inrichting
– De weg van aanvraag naar vergunning voor een initiatief wordt veel korter (wat denk je van 1 dag!)

General information
The streets you walk through it. The air you breathe. The park where you walk the dog. The soil where you stand on. Lampposts. Sidewalks. Benches. Water. Everything in your immediate surroundings has been thought through. That thinking is captured in rules, laws, rules, regulations. The spatial design of the Netherlands has so many rules that only experts have overview on the whole. Ordinary people, residents, business owners have lost their way. Information is (digital) available, but it is too much, not clear, sometimes contradictory and not transparent. That is difficult when you would like to improve this environment, make it more convenient, better or more friendly. This is difficult if you want to develop a initiative in this area. Because what is allowed and what not? And who have to come along?
That is the challenge in the Hackathon ‘Redesign Holland in 48 hours’.
From 2019, all the arrangements have been merged and simplified into one Environmental Planning Act, one law for the whole physical environment. But that is not enough. Technology can help to realize much of the goals of this new law:
– Residents gain more influence over their own environment
– Governments, businesses and citizens work together for a (better) design of the surroundings
– The way to authorize an initiative is much shorter (how about one day!)
